Last year, Kendrick Lamar released his critically-acclaimed Section.80 album. Working with Game led to Kendrick Lamar teaming up with Dr. Dre, leading to him signing to Aftermath Entertainment.
Kendrick Lamar is considered one of the most-dynamic new artists in the game. Many think of K. Dot as one of the most-unique artists in the game. However, Kendrick Lamar, alongside his Top Dawg Ent. label-mate, ScHoolboy Q, is quick to note 50 Cent as one person who inspired him. While their styles are completely different, Kendrick Lamar took notes when it came to mixtapes and street albums.
During his interview with Philadelphia’s Power 99, Kendrick Lamar also revealed DMX served as major inspiration for him. MinaSayWhat conducted the interview.
