Kevin Durant injures his ankle during warmups before game

Kevin Durant is arguably the best player in the NBA, right now. However, he has dealt with an onslaught of injuries since the 2019 NBA Finals. That summer, Kevin Durant was a free agent, and the Golden State Warriors were doing all they could to keep him. During the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, KD and Kyrie Irving had discussions about joining forces. In 2019, KD signed with the Nets. On paper, they had the NBA’s best team, but injuries and drama ruined them. As a result, KD was traded to the Phoenix Suns. He has since hurt himself, again, with his ankle again.

Kevin Durant was the first franchise player for the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 2012, he and Russell Westbrook led the Thunder to the NBA Finals. After their five game loss to the Miami Heat, the Thunder looked like the team of the future. Instead, they sustained playoff losses to the Grizzlies, Spurs, missing the playoffs entirely, and then losing to the Warriors. After that, KD joined the Warriors, winning championships in 2017 and 2018, before losing to the Raptors in the 2019 Finals.

Kevin Durant joined the Brooklyn Nets in 2019, joining Kyrie Irving. The Nets were expected to immediately contend for the title, after KD healed from his injury. To bolster things, they traded for James Harden. None of that was enough, as the Nets lost to the Bucks. Last year, they fell into the play-in, getting swept by the Celtics in the playoffs. KD got traded to the Suns, making them instant contenders. Now, he’s hurt his ankle while he was warming up.
