Early this year, hip hop critics boasted of how Texas was coming back. Much of the credit was going to Slim Thug, for his consistency. However, two newcomers caught the attention of the rap world, Marcus Manchild and Kirko Bangz. Outside of the early part of 2012, Marcus Manchild has disappeared, while Kirko Bangz has shined.

“Drank in My Cup” would become a major hit for Kirko Bangz, enjoying two stints as a hit single. Kirko Bangz even followed up his hit single “Walk on Green,” which featured fellow breakout artist, French Montana. The past year has been big for Kirko Bangz, who released kis PK4 mixtape during the summer.

Spending time in DJ Khaled’s studio, NBC Nitecap caught up with Kirko Bangz and he spoke on many topics. The conversation centered around, however, the Texas hip hop scene and some of the artists Kirko Bangz would like to work with. Due to his recent success, Kirko Bangz is touted as the future in the game and has several collaborations under his belt.
