Had it been a year ago, Kyrie Irving playing the Milwaukee Bucks would have likely led to a Celtics sweep. This is especially true if Gordon Hayward had the chance to play. Still, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown got the Celtics the series win, just in a Game 7.
This year’s Celtics had Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward healthy, but they only went 49-33, massively underperforming. The Milwaukee Bucks absorbed all of what people thought Boston would have. Led by the “Greek Freak,” Giannis, the Bucks went 60-22.
After being blown out by the Celtics, in Game 1, the Bucks have dominated them, blowing Boston out in Game 2, and dominating most of tonight’s game, before the Celtics rallied. In the press conference, the media grilled Kyrie Irving on the loss. Instead of falling for the bait on the refs, Kyrie defended them, saying they have a tough job, and then credited the Bucks’ third quarter play, George Hill, and then mention the free throws.
