Currently, Lee Daniels is the man on the entertainment scene. He is the creative mind behind “Empire,” FOX’s hit primetime soap. Behind amazing performances from Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, the show is TV’s number one program.
Being number one comes with its own set of challenges. During an interview leading up to “Empire” season two, Lee Daniels made a controversial comment. When asked about Terrence Howard’s domestic violence history, Lee Daniels mentioned Sean Penn and Madonna.
Sean Penn caught wind of Lee Daniels’ comments and sued him for $10 million. Lee Daniels pushed for the case to reach federal court, but it was moved back to state court, where Daniels paid the legal fees for Sean Penn. The two face off in court on November 10.
