In 2012, there was an explosion on the Chicago hip hop scene that saw many young rappers, including Lil Durk, rise to fame. Drill music is what these guys create. It is a direct reflection of the violence that goes on daily in the Chicago streets.

Lil Durk is one of the rappers who managed to turn to music and create a new life for himself. This week, Lil Durk released Remember My Name, his debut album. Back in January, Lil Durk talked to Hip Hop Vibe about his album release and new mixtape.

Recently, Hot 97’s Ebro, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg sat down with Lil Durk and he addressed the rumors of him dating Dej Loaf. During the interview, Durk also spoke on growing up in Chicago. Of course, this led the conversation to drill music, which is influenced by the Chicago lifestyle.
