Last night, the hip hop world witnessed Lil Uzi Vert officially become a star. Definitely, he’s had a few hits on the radio, but there was no proof of him being more than a flash in the pan. He emerged, last summer, with a few energetic records.
Lil Uzi Vert is hip hop’s self-proclaimed rock star and he spent this summer stage diving. Along the way, Ed Sheeran hit Uzi up for a verse on the “Shape of You” remix. Last night, Uzi performed his verse during the VMAs and got a big reaction from Cardi B.
Establishing himself as a star, Lil Uzi Vert dropped Luv Is Rage 2 to much fanfare. Now, the numbers are coming in, and the projections have him debuting at number one. His album is projected to sell between 110,000 and 120,000 copies in its first week.
