One of the first mainstream artists to embrace Future was Drake. Virally, Future released his “Tony Montana” single. After hearing the song, Drake added a verse to it and requested it become the official single version. Lil Wayne heard the song and also wanted in on it, but Future turned it down.
Future did not want to be overshadowed by Young Money’s presence on his song and openly spoke on it. Now, Future has several collaborations with Lil Wayne, including appearing on “Love Me” with Drake.
Lil Wayne appeared on Future’s new single, “Karate Chop,” and mentioned doing something and leaving it like Emmett Till, who was brutally beaten during the Jim Crow era. The family of Emmett Till called Lil Wayne out over his lyrics. Now, Dr. Boyce Watkins has broken his silence on the situation.
