Nicki Minaj is always a hot topic, but she became the sole topic on Hot 97 earlier this month. Set to perform at their annual Summer Jam, Nicki Minaj pulled out right before taking the stage. Lil Wayne announced, via Twitter, the entire Young Money camp would not be performing. Before Nicki Minaj was to take the stage, Hot 97 personality, Peter Rosenberg, dissed Nicki’s “Starships” single.
For nearly a week, Hot 97 dissed Nicki Minaj on various shows. Nicki Minaj eventually called in to one of Funkmaster Flex’s shows, getting into it with him. Unable to get her point across, Nicki Minaj conducted an interview with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.” It was then when Nicki Minaj was forgotten and the Hot 97/Power 105.1 feud continued.
With Young Money having other situations, the Hot 97 discussion has ended. Lil Wayne, however, spoke with MTV News earlier today. During his conversation, he tied up loose ends, explaining why he pulled Young Money out of the performance. Once his artist, a female at that, was disrespected, he felt he had to step up and do something.
