Lil Wayne talks Nicki Minaj, says she is still the queen of hip hop, Young Money no longer being with Cash Money, #CarterV, and more with Billboard [VIDEO]

A decade ago, Lil Wayne completed his journey, becoming the biggest rapper in the game. That run put Cash Money Records on top of the game and had Lil Wayne focused on expansion. He had his Young Money imprint, for a few years, but he finally decided to use it.

Quickly, Young Money signed Drake and Nicki Minaj, in 2009. By 2010, they were the two biggest new artists in the game. Also signed to the label was Tyga, and then he got on his grind, and began making hit records, until he left in 2014.

Lil Wayne has now followed Tyga’s footsteps, leaving Cash Money. He explained it all in his interview with Billboard. Crowning Nicki Minaj the queen of hip hop, Lil Wayne gave Birdman his props, but let it be known he’s moving on, as Young Money is now with Republic Records, making it a sister label to Cash Money.
