Until Ludacris, the Atlanta hip hop scene had been responsible for putting out several groups and alternative artists. But, Ludacris was the first solo artist from Atlanta to emerge and have consistent success. He emerged with his own self-financed album and Def Jam signed him to a lucrative deal.
Ludacris last released an album, Battle of the Sexes, in 2010, but he has not released an album since. Instead, Ludacris has released two mixtapes and he has an EP coming in a couple of weeks. The EP is the prequel to Ludacris’ next album, Ludaversal, which is set for release in March.
Success is only one part of the spectrum, the second part is giving back, as it’s the right thing to do. Ludacris decided to go ahead and give back to those in his neighborhood in Atlanta with the Ludacris Foundation. Together with his team, Ludacris handed out turkeys for the people.
