Coming from Brooklyn, the home of The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z, was a major plus for Maino, as he had the support of hip hop media. While Maino did not quite live up to the hype created by some hip hop media outlets, he did hold Brooklyn down.
However, Jay-Z has made himself Brooklyn’s hero for various reasons. A long dream of Jay-Z was to bring a professional sports team to his hometown. After years of discussion, the Nets are finally in Brooklyn. Later this month, they will begin playing at the Barclays Center. Over night, the team is expected to contend.
Meanwhile, Maino has decided to share the spotlight with his crew, The Mafia. Many of hip hop’s current stars all have a crew, so Maino linked with a squad. Maino and The Mafia would speak with Hip Hop Wired about Brooklyn. The city has new energy and they spoke with Maino and company to get their opinion.
