Yesterday was the #BLACKOUT day, which was a day in which black consumers were to not spend money at white establishments. The power of the black dollar is often stated to spend billions every year, but never with other black people. But, not everyone understands this.
The #BLACKOUT is not just due to the wave of murders of innocent black lives, but the racism that comes with it. Not only have the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Rayshard Brooks been dismissed, some have tried to attack their character.
Others, such as Mark Parlier, the owner of Platinum Heating And Air Repair, in Hickory, North Carolina, took it a step further. He was not a fan of the #BLACKOUT day. Instead, he decided to take aim at the whole black community, on Facebook stereotyping everyone, saying that black people get their money from the government, can’t live without welfare and EBT cards, they have fifteen children, and there is no White Privilege.
