A few years ago, there were reports of a brief feud between Mase and Jay-Z, which took place in 1997. In 1997, Mase found himself the biggest rapper in the game, in terms of pop-friendliness. However, Jay-Z maintained a lock on the streets, but had trouble getting over the hump.
Things between Jay-Z and Mase never rose to the proportions that the high-profile feud with Nas did. Nothing was personal between the two and their crews were closely affiliated. Despite being a competitive rival of The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z was also an avid supporter and good friend to both B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records.
Last week, Mase stopped by MTV’s “RapFix Live” and sat on the couch with Sway Calloway. During their interview, Sway allowed the fans to ask questions. At the top of this list was Mase’s past feud with Jay-Z. Mase explained the feud started over a woman he had relations with, who was dating a Roc-A-Fella member.
