Back when New Orleans first made their way into the mainstream hip hop world, there was an unspoken rivalry between No Limit Records and Cash Money Records. In many ways, Master P and his brothers’ rise was similar to Birdman and Slim. But, they had two different endings.
When it looked like Master P and his label folded, Birdman’s label flourished. Hurricane Katrina relocated Cash Money Records to Miami, where Lil Wayne made the move to the top of the game. Eight years later, he is upset with Birdman and working with Master P.
Rumor has it, Lil Wayne may sign with No Limit Records, which would be a major power move. So far, Master P has kept quiet about this, pushing the Money Mafia mixtape for the time being, but he soon broke his silence. Sway sat Master P down and he talked about the possibility of adding Lil Wayne to his label.
