Shortly after, Hayes reportedly indulged in an eerie post-crime act, buying hot wing combos totaling $47 for herself and her boyfriend with the stolen money.
The case took a turn when Hayes’s own mother brought her to the authorities, leading to her confession. The local community has been shaken by the brazen nature of the crime and its aftermath, highlighting a chilling disregard for life over a minor sum of money.
