Michael Jordan’s 27-year old daughter Jasmine Jordan, accepted an interview with Black Enterprise and was ever so humble, honest and cool. The legend’s daughter said that she thought that their lifestyle was normal for a family of a professional athlete. When her friends would tell her that she was so lucky that MJ was her father, she said that she was confused as to how they even knew him. As her curiosity grew of why people seemed so obsessed with her father, she chose to google him and find out for herself at the age of 10 or 11 years old.
Michael Jordan chose to protect his children from the superstar lifestyle and allowed them to come into it at their own leisure, which she is very grateful for. Jasmine Jordan is now a mother and says that her father is an extreme softie and very supportive towards his grandson as well as her other siblings. The public rarely gets to witness this side of icon, although Jasmine confesses that his competitive nature still remain.
She also admitted to Black Enterprise that growing up she was not a fan of Kobe Bryant at all, seeing him as a player coming for her father’s title. It took Jordan later explaining that Kobe was learning and growing into his own and that he served as a mentor to Kobe. Jasmine helps carry the legacy of the Jordan Brand while they consistently produce product, footwear, apparel, and more for the younger generation to come.
The Jordans remain some of the most iconic and sought-after sneakers in the world.
