In a month dominated by musical firestorms, Kendrick Lamar has emerged at the forefront with his scathing Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.” Released in early May as part of a series of pointed responses to the Toronto rapper, Lamar’s latest single has not only ascended to the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 but has also swiftly achieved platinum status.

The track’s meteoric rise follows a strategically timed live performance spree by Lamar himself, culminating in an electrifying five-time rendition to conclude his recent Los Angeles concert. Such relentless dedication has cemented “Not Like Us” as the anthem of the moment, resonating deeply with fans and critics alike for its lyrical prowess and audacious take on industry rivalries.

Adding fuel to the fire, Kendrick Lamar orchestrated the music video shoot for “Not Like Us” over the weekend, strategically set in his hometown of Compton. Collaborating closely with producer Mustard, who contributed significantly to the track’s production, Lamar ensures that every frame of the video echoes his uncompromising vision.

However, it was Mustard’s subtle on-set fashion statement that set tongues wagging. Observers noted his choice of attire—a conspicuous Toronto Blue Jays hat—a nod that some interpret as a cheeky reference to Drake’s Canadian roots. As a result, many believed that Mustard was trolling Drake, yet again.

This also comes as Mustard released his Parking Lot” single with Travis Scott, on Friday. This is the lead single from his “Faith Of A Mustard” seed album, on July 26.
