In the early 2000s, Mystikal was on the verge of taking the rap game over. At a time when Southern rappers were beginning to find their footings as solo artists, Mystikal emerged. Teaming with Pharrell, he scored some classic singles.

Between 2000 and 2002, Mystikal delivered “Shake It Fast,” “Danger (Been So Long),” featuring Nivea, and “Bouncin’ Back.” These singles came in rapid succession, each becoming big hits. But, just as Mystikal, riding the wave of Ludacris’ “Move,” he went to prison.

Mystikal was brought up on rape charges and spent time in prison, spanning 2002 through 2012. When he was released, Mystikal immediately began releasing new music, but he had to go back, and never properly had his comeback moment. This week has seen Mystikal facing more rape charges, but there have been rumblings of his innocence, and now this message hit Facebook.
