Even though he did the Mafioso thing when it became prominent, Nas was never really like all of the other rappers who came out in the 1990s. Most of those guys were either on the hardcore thug rap, Mafioso rap, or simply all about the money. All those records were great and classics, but Nas’ messages were deeper.
Don’t get it twisted though, Nas made serious bank during his run. His recent financial woes are something the media has had a field day with, but Nas is getting everything in order. Recently, Nas purchased a stake in Mass Appeal Magazine and is having input over there.
Nas recently appeared on CNN, again, about his recent act of charity. Upon discovering a man who was homeless, Nas decided to jump in and help. Pooling his resources, Nas is doing all he can to help a man who is a widower and the father of eight children.
