Years ago, the debate about the king of New York came up and it led to clashes with several other New York artists. Ironically, the latest debate of king of New York stems from comments made by a Los Angeles artist. Kendrick Lamar got on Big Sean’s “Control” and went off on the game, calling himself the king of New York.
If there is any king of New York, most would argue that it’s Nas. Last summer, Nas released his tenth studio album, Life is Good. Most have considered the album to be a classic and it was running neck-in-neck with Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city as the 2012 album of the year.
Due to his performance, Nas is considered king of New York. Nas, like the rest of the hip hop world, heard Kendrick Lamar and he responded to the comments. Miss Info caught up with Nas for Hot 97 and they spoke on his take on “Control” and what Kendrick said, although he included Nasty as a legend.
