Nicki Minaj Says She Didn’t Appear on Doja Cat’s “Get Into It” Song, Because Nicki Didn’t Think She Could “Bring Anything” to It [VIDEO]

Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj collaborated in 2020, on Doja’s “Say So” remix. That ended up debuting at number one, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That also became the first collaboration between two female rappers, to hit the top of the Hot 100.

Nicki was also initially supposed to appear on Doja’s “Get Into It (Yuh)” song. That was on Doja’s third studio album, “Planet Her,” which was released in June.

In a recent Twitter Spaces conversation that Nicki had with fans though, she explained why this didn’t end up happening. She says it’s just a matter of how she felt that she didn’t think she could “bring anything” to Get Into It.

“It’s not that I’m too busy at all, it’s just that there were, like, middle people involved in that situation so I had told her, if it was like how me and BIA were direct and we talked to each other directly, but I didn’t love that song [“Get Into It”] because I didn’t think I could bring anything to it,” said Nicki. “So I asked them to send me something else. I think that was the second song they sent me, I asked them to send me something else and they didn’t send me anything else.”

Doja and Nicki have proved before that they can have huge hits together, and Get Into It could’ve had the same success. Hopefully, fans get to hear them on another record again soon.
