Since the release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki Minaj has been rather silent, with the exception of her feud with Hot 97. In the time since then, the spotlight has belonged to Lil Wayne, who is preparing to release Dedication 4 with DJ Drama tomorrow. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is preparing for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Alicia Keys finds herself returning to the spotlight, after taking a two year hiatus. Now the matriarch of a family with Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys had to take a break. Both Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are in comeback mode now, though. During the summer, Alicia Keys appeared on 50 Cent’s “New Day” single, alongside Dr. Dre, and released her own version of the song.
The first official single from Alicia Keys is “Girl on Fire,” which she plans to officially release in two days, on September 4. After releasing “Girl on Fire,” she plans to perform the song for the first time when she heads to Los Angeles for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Nicki Minaj will be performing alongside her, premiering the “Girl on Fire (remix).”
