Nicole Murphy is back circulating in the news after her recent appearance on the Wendy Williams Show.
If you remember correctly, back in July Murphy got caught up in some gossip controversy after photos of her kissing director Antoine Fuqua in Italy surfaced. While Murphy, who is an attractive older woman, may be single and is in her right to kiss whoever, Fuqua definitely can’t say the same. The ‘Training Day’ director has been married to actress Lela Rochon for nearly 20 years. So Murphy getting cuddly with a very married man didn’t go over so well in the media, as well as on the internet.
Well now Murphy has spoken out about the entire situation, claiming it was a ‘mistake’ along with a public apology to Fuqua’s wife Lela.
“It was a frozen-in-time thing,” Murphy told Williams, “Trust me, I wish it didn’t happen. It was a moment where I should’ve thought more through the situation. Made better judgments. It’s something I apologized for.”
Offering up her own explanation, Murphy stated that Antoine was in Italy for a film festival while she was there for for business with designers. During that time media outlet Love B. Scott exclusively issued a statement released by Murph, where she claimed her and Fuqua were ‘family friends’.
During her interview with Wendy, she stated that the supposed statement was fake news.
“There was a statement that was released. I did not put out that statement,” she revealed. “I was actually on an airplane coming back from Europe.”
More than anything else, Murphy was appearing to shift more of the blame on social media ‘spreading misinformation’, rather than fully taking accountability for her actions. After denying the statement ran by B. Scott, the media outlet responded by calling Murphy a liar, pulling out receipts.
