Oklahoma radio station refuses to play Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”
On Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé dropped off plenty of massive surprises. She released a commercial with Verizon, and then went on to reveal on her social media feeds, that a new album is on the way. This is her “Act II” project, which is coming on March 29.
In addition to the Verizon commercial and Act II album, Beyoncé also released two new singles, on Sunday night. These were “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Furthermore, these records surprised many fans, due to them being country songs. Nonetheless, fans heavily approved of both of them.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s fans are trying to get 16 Carriages and Texas Hold ‘Em to receive heavy radio play. One fan even attempted to get Texas Hold ‘Em played onto a country station in Oklahoma. This was KYKC, in the town of Byng.
However, KYKC went on to claim how they’re a country music station, and that they don’t play Beyoncé’s music. This comes despite the fact that her Texas Hold ‘Em single is in fact a country record. As a result, fans soon flooded the station’s social media feeds, and rightfully accusing them of racism, in this situation.
