Hip hop is the culture that is uniting people from all over the world and all shapes and sizes. But, urban music existed before hip hop and R&B/Soul is considered to be the parents of hip hop. This means, homage should be paid to the real veterans, the likes of Peaches and Herb, among others.
Peaches and Herb dropped nine albums over the course of sixteen years and returned in 2009 with their most-recent album. The duo is best-known for “Shake Your Groove Thing” and “Reunited.” These songs have been featured in countless commercials and movies.
TV One is revisiting the music greatness that is Peaches and Herb for their latest episode of “Unsung,” which will air on January 21. Currently, the Washington, DC hip hop scene is beginning to make a big impact on the rap game. This success is predated by Peaches and Herb’s success from 1967 through 1983 and their status as legends in the music industry.
