Several “New West” artists jumped out of the gate and hit the ground running in 2013. In the opening days of 2013, the hip hop world learned of Kid Ink’s record deal and then YG and Casey Veggies released new mixtapes. Problem, meanwhile, released a flurry of songs alongside Iamsu! leading up to their Million Dollar Afro.
Slowly and steadily, Problem has become the Los Angeles emcee to look out for, as the songs continue to come. Fresh off the success of “Take Ya Tights Off,” Problem has another song out, “Like Whaaat,” which is off his DJ Drama-hosted mixtape, The Separation. This music followed Problem to SXSW 2013.
Fly Times Daily caught up with Problem during his time in Austin, Texas. The Los Angeles rapper talked about the SXSW experience. Problem also talked about the “Like Whaaat” single and DJ Drama hosting his upcoming mixtape, The Separation. During the interview, Problem also mentioned his Diamond Lane Gang.
