R. Kelly recently plead not guilty to five federal criminal charges which include kidnapping and racketeering in New York. In his home state of Illinois, he faces charges of child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice. It looks like Kelly could now seal his face by going to prison for a very long time as he’s in trouble in Minnesota as well.
Prosecutors in Minnesota say Kelly is facing charges after paying a minor between the age of 16-17 $200 in 2001 to have sex with him, according to TMZ. The incident reportedly went down on July 11 of that year. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman stated that the victim approached Kelly about an autograph and that’s when Kelly wanted to take advantage of her.
The charges Kelly is facing are engaging in prostitution with someone under 18, and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact. The plot twist is that they didn’t end up having sex and instead, the two “danced and had sexual contact.” Freeman added that it’ll be hard to fully prosecute Kelly due to having very old evidence. Kelly’s attorney calls the charges “begins absurd.
