Rick Ross finds himself in the headlines, without actually doing anything. Because he unfollowed Drake on Instagram, fans assume they have beef. Also, because Ross’ ex, Cristina Mackey, was at Drake’s concert, they assume there’s something funny about that. Officially, the only thing Rick Ross has done was announce a new project. This one is African-inspired.
Rick Ross had a huge run, from 2009 until around 2014. During that time, Ross was arguably the most popular rapper in the game. He had an endless amount of hits with DJ Khaled, Drake, and Lil Wayne. In the years since, Afrobeats have taken over hip hop. Guys like Burna Boy are having a lot of success, right now. Obviously, Ross would want in on that.
Rick Ross is used to having success in the music industry. Like those before him, his time has somewhat come and gone. When he was making major money in the game, Ross made sound investments. These new ventures have helped him continue to draw in major money. Still the love of music is in him. As a result, he announced plans of a project with an African sound.
