The past decade has seen Rick Ross completely revamp his career and his life. When the Miami rapper emerged, most wrote him off as one of the many one hit wonder Southern rappers. In addition to this, he drew many B.I.G. comparisons.
Even with the Jay Z co-sign, few thought Rick Ross would actually grow to become Diddy’s best friend. After taking 50 Cent on, Rick Ross took over the rap game. This is something Rick Ross would brag about in his later music.
Among the people Rick Ross won over was Nas, who worked closely with him during his 2012 run. Even though Nas said he had more music in store, he didn’t release it. Now, it’s another four year hiatus and Nas is now preparing to return, with Rick Ross agreeing to become the executive producer of his next album.
