This “real” hip hop older fans often debate about is the era in which Scarface originated, as he originally introduced Southern hip hop. Produced in the era where lyrics mattered, Scarface made himself into a legend. Southern hip hop has evolved and Houston remains a hub, but Scarface cast this light.

Looking at what he did back then, the world can only imagine Scarface’s dismay where certain elements of hip hop are concerned. Hip hop is in a beautiful place, for the most part, as new stars are being born. Lyricism has returned to hip hop, but the “problem” has not gone away.

Scarface unloaded on this and the other changes in hip hop during the second installment of his Hardknock TV interview. Years ago, a hip hop veteran predicted one day hip hop would consist of black executives and white rappers. Diddy has made this into a reality and Scarface is not quite pleased.

Unloading on the number of white rappers in the game, Scarface also talked about Tupac Shakur and Kendrick Lamar.
