Safe to say, the mainstream hip hop world had forgotten about Shawty Lo. Known to the world as the leader of D4L, Shawty Lo released his “Dey Know” single in 2008. Since then, Shawty Lo has relied solely on mixtapes. The Atlanta scene, where Shawty Lo is from, knows him for his eleven children by ten mothers.
It was Shawty Lo’s lifestyle that ended up being the premise of his upcoming/cancelled reality show, “All My Babies’ Mamas.” Originally, Oxygen was set to broadcast the program, but the pressure to pull the series caught them. In the midst of Shawty Lo petitioning, he was arrested in an Atlanta mall.
In a sense of irony, it is his reality show lifestyle that led to Shawty Lo’s recent arrest in an Atlanta mall. Shawty Lo had talked to CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight” to campaign for his show and then headed to the mall and got arrested. The arrest was because of Shawty Lo failing to pay child support.
