Last week, “Empire” came close to breaking the ratings record they set with their March season finale. The season picks up with Lucious (Terrence Howard) in prison and Jamal (Jussie Smollett) running the company. Meanwhile, the rest of the family schemes for control.
Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray), Andre (Trai Byers), Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), and Anika (Grace Gealey) joined forces to take over Empire. It all failed when Mimi (Marisa Tomei) sided with Lucious and Jamal. The foursome is now launching their own company.
After a chilling appearance from Chris Rock as Frank Gathers and guest spots from Al Sharpton, Don Lemon, Swizz Beatz, Miss Lawrence, and more, the actual storyline is now moving. In tonight’s “Empire” episode, Ludacris and Kelly Rowland appear, with the latter playing Lucious’ mother. Meanwhile, a promo for episode four shows Lucious free from prison and Pitbull performing.
