Back in September, Stefflon Don dropped “Hurtin’ Me,” featuring popular emcee, French Montana. However, this spring, the song began getting moderate radio play. The rise of Stefflon Don coincided with the album release of Cardi B, who is engaged to Steff’s label-mate, Offset.
Cardi B has been on an absolute tear, over the past year. Early in 2017, she signed a $10 million deal with Atlantic Records. With one song, she made them their money back, and she’s gone onto become 2017-2018’s biggest artist.
Stefflon Don is also having success and she recently revealed she was to be featured on a huge song, until she wasn’t. Apparently, the label, which was Atlantic, contacted her to do a major song. The song dropped, today, and she wasn’t on it, after a rapper on the label heard her verse, and changed hers, leading people to believe the song was Rita Ora’s “Girls,” and the rapper was Cardi B… thoughts?
