Terrence Howard was considered 2015’s biggest comeback and he was, technically. But, NWA owned 2015 because the first part of the year was spent with fans anticipating the Straight Outta Compton movie. The second part was spent with fans discussing the movie.
Straight Outta Compton‘s release coincided with the Apple Music launch and Dr. Dre did tons of cross promotion. This movie even allowed for Dr. Dre to finally release a new album. The film has won on many different levels.
Tonight, Straight Outta Compton won Outstanding Motion Picture at the 2016 NAACP Image Awards. This win was one that no one could dispute. Even the fans who tweeted about inconsistencies had to give praise on Twitter for Straight Outta Compton winning this award.
