Black substitute teacher gets grabbed by her throat by a cop and dragged down the hallway for trying to break up a fight

Substitute teacher gets manhandled by cop for breaking up fight

When Nia King tried to break up a fight between two students, she thought she was doing her job. After all, King was a substitute teacher in Henry County, Georgia. The last thing King expected to happen was for one of the school’s resource officers to grab her throat and drag her down the hallway. While the twenty-two year old didn’t expect it, that’s what happened. As a result, Nia King shared her story with the news.

Nia King, given her young age, was often mistaken for being a student. Despite her being a sub, the officers should have known who she was. Even if she were a student, her trying to stop a fight should have been given more attention. Instead, it sounds like the officer came in taking action and asking questions later. The situation was tough, to begin with, but it quickly went from bad to worse. This led to King getting hurt.

First of all, Nia King said she intervened when the girls were arguing. When the first hand was thrown, King said she lost her balance and got trampled. Making matters worse, the school resource officer got involved. While she was being trampled, she said the cop grabbed her by the neck and pulled her down the hallway. In the aftermath, she said the officer claimed he was helping her. Now, Henry County Schools is investigating the situation. The county sheriff department said no one was trained to do chokeholds like this officer exhibited.
