Summer Walker receives her own day in hometown of Atlanta
Summer Walker continues to be a huge R&B fan-favorite, as she released her “Clear 2: Soft Life” EP, in May. That project contained nine songs, including collaborations with J. Cole and Childish Gambino. She even held a concert in her hometown of Atlanta, as a live orchestra also performed with her. Furthermore, Walker also appeared on fellow Atlanta native Usher’s “Good Good” single last month, which also featured 21 Savage.
Meanwhile, Walker is now being honored in her hometown in a major way. On Thursday, she took to Instagram to reveal that she now has her own day in Atlanta. Walker is seen posing alongside various counsel members, as she is holding the document which states that September 21 is Summer Walker Day in Atlanta This is as a result of the singer’s work in the community.
Moreover, this proclamation was also named on the last day of summer. This coincidentally is also the title of Summer Walker’s 2018 debut EP, “Last Day Of Summer.” That project helped Walker soar to stardom, as it contained her breakout hit single, “Girls Need Love.” Exclusive new cobalt blue vinyls of this project are also available.
