Swizz Beatz & Timbaland to air Verzuz matchups on X in new deal
Verzuz battles are finally making their highly anticipated return, for the first time since late 2022. On Wednesday, it was revealed that Swizz Beatz and Timbaland reached a distribution deal for Verzuz, to be aired on X. This announcement was officially made during a Cannes Lions conference in France on Wednesday, per Variety.
Moreover, Swizz and Timbaland have been back at 100% ownership of the platform, after they regained it back from Triller, earlier this year. That came after suing Triller in the fall of 2022 for $28 million, after not receiving payments for the sale of Verzuz. In this new deal with X, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland also regained creative control of Verzuz, while X owns exclusive distribution rights. Furthermore, fans can view the Verzuz matchups on X for free.
