Lil Wayne dug himself a deep hole without even realizing it when he appeared on the remix of Future’s “Karate Chop.” During his verse, Lil Wayne raps about engaging in sexual activities and “beating it up like Emmett Till.” Sparking the Civil Rights’ era, Till originally was brutally murdered for coming on to a white woman.

Senselessly losing Emmett Till, rightfully so, his family has not gotten over his death nearly sixty years after it took place. Several rappers have referenced Emmett Till in their rhymes, varying in offense. But, Lil Wayne took the cake, so the family took his endorsement.

All of the biggest rappers in the game have talked about Lil Wayne and the infamous line about Emmett Till. Everyone has spoken their peace about the line with the exception of T.I. During his interview with DJ Scream, T.I. said Lil Wayne did not mean any harm by what he said on the track.
