The Weeknd has easily been one of the most dominant artists in the world over the past year, as usual. Last March, he put out his fourth studio album, “After Hours,” which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. It also featured two Billboard Hot 200 chart-topping singles in “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights.”
Blinding Lights went on to arguably be the biggest record of 2020, after its initial November 2019 release. It is currently 9x platinum in the US, and in one week, can tie the record for being the longest-charting song in Hot 100 history.
Now, the Toronto native is about to drop another highly anticipated single. Weeknd just put out a video on Instagram, where the female track athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were being celebrated. It also contained audio of this single, which is titled “Take My Breath.”
Take My Breath will be out on August 6. Like Heartless and Blinding Lights, this could very well be another number one record for The Weeknd. This is also his first single of 2021.
