Among the number of new rappers who have gained fame through the internet is Tone Trump, a representative of Philadelphia. Last year, Tone Trump rose to fame with the success of his single, “Afghan.” The song became very popular, leading to him meeting Young Jeezy and having him on the remix of the single. Support from several hip hop websites also helped keep Tone Trump’s name out there.
Earlier this year, Tone Trump was asked how he enjoyed being an independent artist. Because of the freedom and the pay, Tone Trump said he loved it. While life was good, he admitted he was not rich, but able to afford a nice lifestyle. The Philadelphia emcee was then questioned about being signed to a label. During this interview, Tone Trump was questioned about signing with a label, to which he said he had a few offers.
Now on his “Afghan” tour, Tone Trump has performed with Young Jeezy in Atlanta. Currently in Miami for Memorial Day weekend, Young Jeezy was with Tone Trump. Apparently, the primary label interested was Jeezy’s CTE, as he revealed he added Tone Trump to his label. Young Jeezy has also expressed interest in adding Chief Keef to CTE.
