To kick off this weekend, Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation hosted its annual HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic, in his hometown of Houston. Moreover, it was held inside Minute Maid Park, which is home of MLB’s Houston Astros, who recently won the World Series in 2017 and 2022.

A great cause was raised in the HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic, as ticket sales from the games resulted in supporting the Cactus Jack Foundations Waymon Webster Scholarship fund. This initiative assists HBCU scholars access education resources. In addition to these, an HBCU award ceremony and a presentation by the NAACP was held, to honor the recipients of the Waymon Webster Scholarship and the Webster family.

The HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic was held for three days, as the celebrity game kicked things off, as Houston Texans Quarterback CJ Stroud won the MVP award. Furthermore, fans then witnessed a round-robin collegiate baseball classic tournament featuring Division 1 baseball teams from HBCUs.
