On his Hotel California album, Tyga went all out and he finished the album in a timely manner, putting it out by spring. In several interviews, Tyga talked about his “Hit ‘Em Up” track, which featured a Tupac sample. Also featuring Jadakiss, Tyga denied the song being a direct sample of Tupac’s 1996 single.

Once the album came out, fans noticed a much different “Hit ‘Em Up” than the one released to the internet. In interviews, Tyga has touched on “Hit ‘Em Up,” but he has not gone into much detail about what happened. Recently, Tyga finally opened up on what held his real version of “Hit ‘Em Up” from being released.

During Tyga’s interview with DJ Skee, he finally fully discussed “Hit ‘Em Up.” Tyga opened up on what happened that prohibited him from using Tupac on the official retail version of the song. Many have simply listened to the Tupac version with the album. In the interview, Tyga also talked about Lil Wayne’s health scare.
