Once upon a time, Vado appeared to be the emcee who was going to restore New York hip hop to prominence. Momentum was high for Vado and he capped off his run when he signed to Interscope Records. Initially, the deal was said to include all of Diplomat Records, but this claim later was disputed.

Instead, Interscope Records only had interest in signing Vado. Staying with the label for a little over two years, nothing came from Vado during his time on the label. The focus shifted to Nicki Minaj, French Montana, A$AP Rocky, and Joey Bada$$, among others, in New York City.

After releasing Slime Flu 3, Vado announced his deal with DJ Khaled’s We the Best Music Group. Denying the deal at first, Vado made the official announcement and has since appeared on a single with label-mate Ace Hood. Vado has since sat down with Sway Calloway for his Shade 45 show, “Sway in the Morning” to discuss this new deal.
