Kendrick Lamar saved the legends from his list, but he sounded off on every other rapper in the game on Big Sean’s “Control.” Sampling veteran Compton emcee, Game, K. Dot said “you new niggas ain’t nothing but new niggas.” After saying that, Kendrick Lamar mentioned every current rapper, including Wale.
Initially, Wale took to his Twitter to respond to Kendrick Lamar. At the time, Wale brushed the mention off, citing the money he is making at the present time. But, there were many other rappers in the game who were not as dismissive as Wale, most of them were not even mentioned by Kendrick Lamar.
TMZ caught up with Wale and they asked him about being mentioned by Kendrick Lamar on the “Control” record. In this quick interview, Wale was in transit, but he still made time to talk to the gossip outlet. Wale said he was honored to be mentioned, but kept the competition going when he said HE is the best rapper. When Wale was a newcomer, he was once hailed as the future of the game. Wale was compared to Kanye West, early in his career.
