Warren G talks Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, mainstream radio, collaborations, and more with AllHipHop

Warren GOne thing Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse has pointed out is how there is no support in New York. Instead, there are a bunch of artists competing with the veterans, unlike on the West Coast. Warren G has kept things going and he is working with many up-and-coming West Coast artists, such as YG.

Warren G also found a groove working with Young Jeezy, as he helped the Atlanta rapper reinvent his career. Like many others, Young Jeezy found himself not mentioned on the verse from Kendrick Lamar on Big Sean’s “Control.” Most people not on the list have taken offense and taken shots.

AllHipHop.com caught up with Warren G and he explained his opinions on a few topics, starting with Kendrick Lamar. Warren G came to the defense of Kendrick, saying he only wanted to get rappers to step up. Warren G also gave his take on music played by the radio, and talked about working with J. Cole and Nipsey Hussle.
