Thinking about the Florida situation harks memories of Kanye West’s intro on his early single, “Jesus Walks.” America is at war within itself and a spotlight was placed on it when Trayvon Martin was killed. Only a few months later, another Florida teenager, Jordan Davis, got murdered.
The same age as Trayvon Martin, Jordan Davis often spoke of how he resembled the slain teen. Obviously, Jordan Davis was impacted by the Trayvon Martin murder, but he probably never imagined he would die a similar fate. But, this is what happened eight months later.
With the case getting ready to hit trial, the New York Times talked to Ron Davis, the father of Jordan Davis. Earlier this week, they featured him in a documentary they call “When Loud Music Turned Deadly.” In this documentary, Ron Davis spoke on his son’s life, his death, and how they feel heading into the trial.
