Woman runs over her son’s foster mom due to child support dispute

Even when doing the right thing, being a parent is a hard thing to do. Many variables go into having a child and raising a family. Some people simply aren’t equipped to do it. As a result, society has different services to help in matters such as those. In America, the foster care system is one. However, the foster system also has flaws. One woman in San Pedro, California was supposed to return her child to his foster mother. However, she ran the woman over during the handoff.

The foster care system is far from perfect, but it was put in place to protect neglected children. While many hope for foster children to be adopted, the goal is for the biological parents to get their lives together in order to regain their children. Rarely, if ever, does this happen. Most typically, foster children age out of the system. After that, they reunite with their biological families as adults. However, most have been exposed to all kinds of extremities leading up to this.

Miesha Scott, age 39, is currently behind bars facing two counts of attempted murder. In addition, she’s facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, and felony evading. This stems from her refusal to hand her five year old son off to his foster parents. As a result, she tried to speed off, running over the foster mother. Also, the cops were called, and they opened fire on her. Eventually, she drove into a tree, and was arrested.
