Kendrick Lamar has established himself as the biggest new artist from Los Angeles, but there are several other rising rappers out West. Tyga has longtime been the distant second to Kendrick Lamar, but Def Jam’s YG is now emerging. YG, alongside Casey Veggies and Kid Ink are having much success.
The Los Angeles hip hop scene got off to a fast start in 2013. During the opening month of 2013, Joe Moses, Casey Veggies, and YG all released new mixtapes. YG has enjoyed more media exposure in the time since then. Signed to Def Jam, YG revealed he is working on his debut album, with Young Jeezy being the executive producer.
YG releasing Just Re’d Up 2, his latest mixtape, has placed much attention on him. Now, the rising rapper is preparing to go on tour. Earlier this afternoon, YG revealed the tour dates for the Just Re’d Up 2 tour, along with the official flyer. The tour is set to launch next month in Providence, Rhode Island.
