YNW Melly has been a buzzing artist out of Broward County, Florida since last year. His breakout single was “Blue Balenciagas.” He also released his “I Am You” project to close out 2018.
Melly is expected to be an even bigger star in 2019 but he’s running into some legal issues to kick off the new year. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, he was arrested early this morning on two misdemeanor drug charges. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
Exact charges listed are one count of possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams and possession and/or use of drug equipment. In his mugshot, he’s seen showing off a huge smile. On his Instagram account, the mugshot was posted with the caption “Free Melvin. I’ll be out before my tour.” The tour kicks off on January 29 in Houston at Warehouse Live.
